Engineering that runs the whole way through.

Atomik Labs opened in 2004 as an engineering services shop: electronic and mechanical design, test automation, embedded software, and PCB layout. Much of the early work was production test and calibration — the racks and software that decide whether a product is allowed to leave the factory. That kind of work leaves a mark on how you build everything afterwards.

You can't manage what you can't measure.

Two decades on, we hold to that standard across a wider stack. We draw the schematic, lay out the board, design the parts around it, write the firmware that runs on it, and build the application you actually touch. Because one team does all of it, the seams between hardware and software are ours to get right rather than someone else's to argue about.

Over the years the work has spanned RF and microwave, wireless infrastructure, semiconductors, avionics, and industrial automation: production test stations, instrument control, calibration systems, boards, firmware and, more recently, the phone in your pocket. We stay deliberately small, which means we choose our projects, and the engineer who designs your product is the engineer who builds it.

How we work.

One team, one thread. The engineer who scopes your project designs it, builds it and hands it over. Nothing gets thrown over a wall, because there is no wall.

We start from the constraint — the measurement that has to hold, the current budget, the deadline that will not move — and design outward from there. It is a habit picked up from twenty years of test engineering, and it has never once been the wrong order to work in.

And we stay deliberately small. It means we choose our projects, we finish them, and you always know exactly who is doing the work.

What does Atomik Labs do?

Atomik Labs is an engineering services studio founded in 2004. It takes products from first idea to finished product across six disciplines: electronic design, PCB layout, mechanical design, test automation, embedded software, and web and app development.

Can one team really cover both hardware and software?

Yes, and that is the point of the studio. The same team draws the schematic, lays out the board, designs the mechanics around it, writes the firmware and builds the application. The interfaces between hardware and software are handled inside one team instead of negotiated between separate vendors.

Which industries has Atomik Labs worked in?

RF and microwave, wireless infrastructure, semiconductors, avionics and defense, industrial automation, and consumer devices. The work has included production test stations, instrument control, calibration systems, circuit boards, firmware and mobile applications.

Do you build automated test equipment?

Yes. Production test, calibration and automated test equipment is where the studio started in 2004 and it remains a core discipline, covering instrument control, test limits, data capture and reporting for production lines.

Can you take a PCB all the way to manufacturing?

Yes. Board work runs from schematic capture through multilayer layout to a full manufacturing release, including gerbers, the bill of materials, and fabrication and assembly drawings.

Do you develop mobile apps?

Yes. Native Android in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, including wearables, home-screen widgets, Bluetooth Low Energy sensor integration and fully on-device processing. HeartVector, published on Google Play, is one of the studio's own apps.
